Arua Hill SC midfielder Gadafi Wahab has revealed that he is open to playing for the South Sudan national football team.

Wahab made the revelation while holding an interactive question-and-answer session with his fans on his Facebook page.

“No one has denied me a chance to play for Uganda Cranes, and if the opportunity comes to play for either Uganda Cranes or the South Sudan national team, I will surely embrace it,” Wahab affirmed.

Gadafi Wahab was nominated in best midfielder of the 2022/23 season alongside, Lawrence Bukenya and Laban Tibiita

Wahab enjoyed a fantastic season with Arua Hill SC last season, registering five goals in 20 appearances.

He was recognized among the ‘Best XI of the 2022/23’ and earned a nomination in the ‘Midfielder of the Season’ in the Pilsner Uganda Premier League awards.

Several Ugandan players have recently switched citizenship, including Arua Hill captain Rashid Toha, KCCA, and Vipers striker Tito Okello

Reports allege South Sudan is luring the midfielder.
