Arua Hill Sports Club forward Innocent Media has finally left for Rome, Italy, to join lower division club Lucera Calcio.

Media travelled Saturday, July 22 evening via Addis Ababa after being dropped off at Entebbe International Airport by his mother.

He is expected to seal a three-year contract with the Italian club in a move that turned controversial after Arua Hill alleged he was still under contract at the club.

The youngster sought redress from FUFA Dispute and Resolution Chamber arguing that his contract had expired but the club was coercing him to extend his stay.

A reliable source intimated to this website that Arua Hill wanted to sell Media to Turkey in a partnership deal before his agents hijacked the move with a more lucrative offer from Italy thus the controversy.

The uncertainty of Arua Hill’s future in the top-flight league also played in Media’s favour.

Media sealed the move through the Bosman ruling meaning Arua Hill did not receive a fee.

He joins the growing list of key players who have left Arua Hill in the ongoing transfer window, including captain Rashid Toha, Richard Matovu, Rogers Omedwa, Richard Anyama, Isaac Okello, Innocent Maduka, and Bright Joseph Vuni.

Media, a budding prospect, netted nine goals in 17 league matches in the 2022/23 season as Arua Hill finished fourth.

The 21-year-old joined the club in the 2021/22 season scoring two goals in six appearances following an impressive performance with Buddo SSS, where he was captain.
