AS Monaco midfielder Eliot Matazo is nearing a return to full fitness from a quadriceps injury that prevented him from taking part in a majority of matches in December.
The midfielder who was born in Belgium to a Congolese Malagasy father and Kenyan mother is expected to return to training within the next three weeks.
The injury was set to rule him out for between six to eight weeks, having suffered it at the start of December.

Matazo, who represents Belgium at the U21 level could also play for Kenya or DRC in the future and has played a very peripheral role at the club since the arrival of former Chelsea midfielder Dennis Zakaria in the off-season, accumulating just 98 minutes of league football this season.
Last season, he featured 29 times in all competitions, starting 13 Ligue 1 games. He has not yet started a game this season.
Speaking at the start of November, Adi Hütter suggested that a departure, either on loan or permanently, was being considered for Matazo.
