Alvarez to Atletico Madrid agreed
Alvarez, 24, is set to join Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid this summer, ending his two-and-a-half-year stay at the Etihad Stadium.
He will become the club's third summer signing, following Robin Le Normand and Alexander Sorloth.
Atletico are also keen on Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher as Simeone looks to build a team that can challenge for the La Liga title.
Alvarez had a successful season with Manchester City, making 54 appearances, scoring 19 goals, and providing 13 assists.
He played a crucial role in the team's treble-winning season, winning the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup.
Additionally, Alvarez has had success with the Argentina national team, winning the 2022 World Cup, Copa America twice, and earning 36 caps.
