LALIGA giants Atletico Madrid are reportedly eyeing a move for another Manchester City star.

Atletico Madrid have reportedly returned for another Manchester City star after reportedly completing the €90 million acquisition of World Cup winner Julian Alvarez.

The player in question? Matheus Nunes. The 25-year-old Portuguese midfielder joined the Cityzens last summer and came highly rated, with Guardiola deeming him one of the best players in the world.

After seeing him up close following his acquisition, however, the Spaniard walked back his assessment, stating that the ex-Sporting man still had a lot to learn. He only managed nine Premier League starts last season, and this campaign has not started positively.

He was unused in the league opener against Chelsea and only came on after the 90th-minute mark in the 4-1 thumping of newly promoted Ipswich. With the return of Gundogan from Barcelona this summer, his game time is expected to be few and far between, and a loan move could be in the works.

According to the Athletic, Manchester City will entertain offers for him, but they have yet to receive any bids for the highly-rated Portugal international.

LALIGA outfit Atletico Madrid are believed to be evaluating a loan move for the midfielder and will leverage their cordial relationship with Manchester City after recently sending nearly €100 million their way.
