Felix Agu and Justin Njinmah were the heroes for visitors Werder Bremen on their away trip to Augsburg.

German outfit Werder Bremen continued their unbeaten start to the new season thanks to their German-born Nigerian stars Felix Agu and Justin Njinmah. 

Bremen went, saw and snatched a share of the spoils against Augsburg following a thrilling 2-2 draw on Saturday afternoon. 

Agu and Njinmah were the heroes for the visitors as they scored both goals to earn the River Islanders a valuable away point to kick start the new season. 

Bremen started on the front foot and it was no surprise that they took the lead after just 12 minutes when Agu. After a long ball into the top rolls through on Agu, which comes from the left and he made no mistakes from close range.

But that goal only lasted four minutes as the hosts hit back to equaliser via Elvis Rexhbecaj before Samuel Essende fired them in front heading into the break. 

After the restart, Bremen pushed for the equaliser and it eventually arrived just before the hour mark as super sub and speedster Njinmah was in the right place and time to head home from six yards.

A brilliant start to the season for the duo who will now look to build on that when they Borussia Dortmund at home next weekend. 

Last season, 23-year-old Njinmah scored six goals and two goals in 10 starts to Bremen while Agu has already bettered his numbers from last season when he failed to score or assist a goal in 19 starts. 

 Meanwhile, Werder Bremen's Njinmah is weighing his international options, with the forward eligible for Germany and Nigeria's Super Eagles.

Njinmah stated earlier this year that speculation he is on Germany's radar is spurring him on to greater heights, even as Nigeria attempts to lure him to the Super Eagles.
