The Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Austin Eguavoen, has reacted to the signing of 18-year-old Ebenezer Akinsanmiro by Inter Milan.
Akinsanmiro joined Inter Milan from Remo Stars academy side Beyond Limits.
Akinsanmiro signed a four-year deal with Inter Milan
The teenager, who is an academy product of the club, has signed a four-year deal.
He was part of the team that helped Remo Stars gain promotion from the Nigeria National League to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) in the 2020–2021 season.
He also featured in the 2021/22 NPFL.
Most notably, Ebenezer played for the Beyond Limits academy team in the Creative Championship and the Viareggio Cup World Football Tournament.
Eguavoen reacts
The former Bendel Insurance of Benin player has congratulated Remo Stars for the player's move, saying that the move is a huge win for Nigeria.
The former Super Eagles gaffer said this on his verified Twitter handle, adding that the move was what he expected from Nigerian clubs.
He said, “Congratulations to Ebenezer Akinsanmiro and the entire Remo Management and staff. This is a huge win for Remo Stars and Nigerian Football. The kind of moves we love to see. More of this.”
Recall that Eguavoen stepped down as the coach of the Nigeria national team, the Super Eagles, after his inability to secure the Qatar 2022 World Cup ticket.
