Osho, who made the switch from England to represent Nigeria—where both of his parents hail from Lagos—lasted 45 minutes before being substituted at halftime.
The decision came after a challenging first half for the Super Eagles, who found themselves trailing Benin after a shocking goal from a corner kick that slipped under goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
During his time on the pitch, Osho demonstrated impressive statistics, completing 90% of his passes and achieving 100% success in tackles and ground duels.
He also attempted eight passes into the final third, completed two of three long balls, and made three clearances, showing his potential as a valuable asset to the team.
Osho's debut is particularly significant as it marks his commitment to the Super Eagles after previously representing England at youth levels.
He expressed his eagerness to contribute to the national team and acknowledged the wealth of talent within the squad. "I will just work as hard as I can. That’s what the fans can expect from every single player here," he stated.
After sealing top spot, Nigeria will switch attention to their final match of the AFCONQ2025 against Rwanda, Osho's performance will be closely analysed as he looks to solidify his place in the squad.
His debut reflects a promising start to what many hope will be a successful international career with the Super Eagles.
