Latest Super Eagles defender Gabriel Osho has impressed Nigerians with his Yoruba language.
Gabriel Osho, the newest defender for Nigeria's Super Eagles, has proudly showcased his Yoruba heritage in a recent interview shared by the team on social media.
In the video, Osho expressed his excitement about joining the national team and spoke a few words in Yoruba, stating;

“Both my parents were born in Lagos, ba wo ni to you guys. I am happy to be here.”
Osho, who was previously invited to join the Super Eagles but could not participate due to injury, has now made his way into the squad after a successful stint with Auxerre in France.
Reflecting on his journey, he noted, “I have been invited before but I couldn’t come because of injury and one or two other things. But when this time came, everything kinda aligned and I am grateful to God that the time has finally come and I could join up with the team.”
The 26-year-old defender, born in Reading, England, has confirmed his eligibility to play for Nigeria through his Nigerian parents.
Despite holding dual nationality, Osho has chosen to represent Nigeria, emphasising his commitment to the national team.
Osho expressed his determination to give his best if selected as he prepares for his debut with the Super Eagles in their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
He acknowledged the wealth of talent within the squad and expressed admiration for teammates like Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho.
Osho’s inclusion in the national team comes at a crucial time as Nigeria leads Group D with 10 points and aims to secure qualification for AFCON 2025.
With fans excited about his potential contributions, Osho is set to train with the team ahead of their first match on Thursday.
