France Football has released its 30-woman shortlist for the Ballon d'Or award.
The Ballon d'Or has released its 30-woman shortlist for the Best Player award, and Zambia’s Barbara Banda and Malawi’s Tabitha Chawinga are the only representatives from Africa on the list.
Super Falcons’ Assisat Oshoala was a nominee in the last two editions of the away; however, despite becoming the first African woman to win the Champions League thrice, her performance level was not enough to extend her record as the most nominated woman from the continent.

Victor Osimhen: Asisat Oshoala lambasts Chelsea’s salary offer after failed transfer
The reigning CAF women’s player of the year has aimed a thinly-veiled dig at Chelsea after failing to agree terms with Osimhen.
Banda is one of the most prolific strikers in the women's game. She recently made a big money move to Orlando Pride in the National Women's Soccer League in America and has scored 12 goals in 14 league matches so far.
Over the summer, she was exceptional for Zambia, continuing are goalscoring dominance in the Olympics, scoring four goals in three matches. She became the first woman to score three hat-tricks in the games and is now only four goals behind Brazil's Cristiane Rozeira and the top scorer in competition history.
