Super Falcons of Nigeria star Asisat Oshoala finishes in a modest position in the Ballon d'Or rankings despite her exceptional season with Barcelona.
Super Falcons Asisiat Oshoala has been placed 20th on the Ballon d'Or rankings for her exploits with Barcelona, with which she won the Champions League and Spanish League.
Oshoala was also a member of the Nigerian contingent at the FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, which shocked the world with their gutsy performance at the tournament.
Oshoala finishes 20th with second nomination
As Pulse Sports reported, The Barcelona forward received a nomination for the award for the second consecutive year in a row.
Oshoala enjoyed immense success with her club side and was part of a Nigerian team that went close to making history at the FIFA Women's World Cup.
She won the league and Champions League with Barcelona and reached the Round of 16 of the World Cup with the Super Falcons, who were unbeaten in regular play.
The five-time African Women's Footballer of the Year also had a remarkable individual season despite injury trouble, scoring 21 goals in the league and five in the Champions League.
Oshoala joined her fellow Barcelona teammates Mapi Leon, Patri Guijaro, Fridolina Rolfo, Salma Paralluelo and the winner Aitana Bonmati, on the Ballon d’Or ranking.
