The club is under a new board, and the management is ambitious to deliver trophies at the Mombasa-based side.

Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) side Bandari has sounded a warning to top-flight rivals.

The Dockers, according to the club's vice chairman, Twaha Mubarak, are laying the groundwork that will help them turn into a strong Premier League-chasing club.

Twaha is among the officials who were recently appointed to Bandari's board of trustees.

"We have settled in well to the office and are already planning for the new season. We are focused on turning the fortunes of Bandari around, and our main focus is to clinch next season’s Premier League title, I know it is possible [to win the title], and that is what we are working to achieve," Mbarak said.

"The plan we have set up is to ensure Bandari becomes the best team domestically and internationally; we want to ensure that Bandari competes effectively in Africa; we want Bandari in the CAF competitions; and we have already put a strategy in place to achieve our goals."

To achieve what they have already planned, the football administrator has called on the fans to stick with the club and offer the needed support.

"We are asking the fans to rally behind the team; we need their support to achieve our goals. It will not happen in a day, but they have to remain calm and see the good things we have in store for them," Mbarak added.

"We have already started [the process of] beefing up the squad, it will be done by the technical bench; we have given them a free hand to execute their mandate. We don’t want to interfere with their work, ours is to give them support, and make sure we sign the players they want to be brought in."

Mbarak is ambitious despite the fact that the Dockers finished in sixth place, 10 points behind eventual champions Gor Mahia in the concluded season.
