At the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup last year, the West African team matched Ghana's accomplishment by winning bronze medal.

The only FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup that the Flamingoes haven't attended is the 2018 competition.

Prior to the 2022 edition, they had only advanced to the quarterfinals in the editions from 2010, 2012, and 2014, respectively.
