Kenya Police are currently 13 points behind league leaders, Gor Mahia.
Kenya Police head coach Francis Baraza believes his side is still in the title race ahead of their match against in-form Sofapaka at the Police Sacco stadium in Nairobi on Wednesday afternoon.
Police were held to a 0-0 draw by Ken Kenyatta’s Talanta, which would otherwise have put them on 52 points with a game in hand. It was a dent in their title hopes, but the media-friendly boss chose to play the optimistic card.
“I am not giving up on the title race. I would not be participating in the remaining games of the season otherwise. The league is not decided by one match,” Baraza said.

Rupia has scored 21 league goals this season, just four behind Benson Omala who leads the charts on 25 goals.
“We will focus on all our remaining games until the last minute. In football, anything can happen. The league has admittedly been packed fixture-wise, and fatigue has hit the players hard, but it does not mean we will not keep trying.”
Baraza has already experienced what it takes to win a league championship, having won the 2006 Kenya Premier League title with Sony Sugar. He took charge of Police in mid-December after the Law Enforcers started the season badly under the previous coach, Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo.
A win against Sofapaka will put them 53 points, 10 behind league leaders Gor Mahia with five games left to play. Their fixture list is favourable compared to Gor Mahia's, who still have to play AFC Leopards and Tusker in the title run-in.
