The coach says his players were troubled to play under the scorching heat in Bungoma on Wednesday.

Kenya Police FC head coach Francis Baraza feels his side could have won by a bigger margin than their 4-0 victory over Vihiga Bullets in their Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match on Wednesday afternoon.

In the match played at Bukhungu Stadium, Duke Abuya, and Francis Kahata found the back of the net in the 13th and 38th minutes, respectively, with Alvin Mange'ni and Elvis Rupia completing the rout in the second half.

The former Kagera Sugar tactician has now said they tried their best to win the match with a bigger margin, but the weather conditions were not favourable to them as they are not used to playing matches at that time

"We should have scored more than ten goals were it not for the unfavourable weather conditions in Bungoma and the 1 pm kick-off time, which affected my boys.

We are experiencing rainy and chilly weather in Nairobi, and here it was hot, but I can't blame my players for the unimpressive display," he said.

Even after Bullets failed to pull a goal back, the Law Enforcers mentor hailed the temperament of Louis Kizito's coached side.

"Vihiga Bullets are a good team that plays good football. They have produced good results against other teams in the league," he added.

Despite the victory, Police remained fifth on the league standings with 43 points from 24 matches, while Vihiga are still at the bottom of the log with eight points from 25 matches.

Kenya Police play their next match against second-placed Gor Mahia at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi on Saturday, April 22.
