Ex-Chelsea star Joao Felix could be on his way to Barcelona after confessing his admiration for the club
Barcelona could seek a deal for Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix after the Portuguese star expressed his intention to play for the Blaugrana.
Felix desperate for Barcelona move
Felix, who played the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Chelsea, has recently expressed interest in playing for Barcelona, referring to the possibility of playing for the Catalans as a “dream come true.”
The former Benfica froward spoke exclusively to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who quoted him as saying, “I’d love to play for Barça. Barcelona has always been my first choice, and I’d love to join Barça”.
“It was always my dream since I was a kid. If it happens, it will be a dream come true for me”.
Felix looking to leave Athetico Madrid
Felix’s Atletico Madrid career appears to be over after the Portuguese was captured playing with the club’s reserve team after returning from his Chelsea loan, and Barcelona could serve as a way out for the 23-year-old.
Offers for Felix are scant thanks to Atletico Madrid’s potential asking price as well as the Portuguese star’s wages, and the forward is hoping that he can complete a transfer to Barcelona.
The Catalan giants have not been fortunate with signings from Atletico Madrid in recent years after the unflattering performances of players like Antoine Griezmann and Arda Turan.
They will be hoping for a better outcome this time if they decide to sign the 23-year-old Portuguese prodigy.
