Barcelona give Arsenal important response over inquiry for star defender

Barcelona have reportedly set a price benchmark for a defender Arsenal inquired for.

Barcelona have reported set a minimum ask for France international defender Jules Kounde following an inquiry from Premier League side Arsenal.

Kounde, 25, joined Barcelona from rival club Sevilla in the summer of 2022 and has since been an integral member of the club's defence. However, given the Blaugrana's unhealthy finances, they are forced to listen to offers for key players and Arsenal have asked for Kounde.

Barcelona respond to inquiry

According to a report from Diario Sport, Barcelona told Arsenal to give them time to evaluate Kounde’s transfer status, as they are yet to determine if they are willing to let him go this summer.

Per the report, selling Kounde is contingent on Ronald Araujo’s status, as they will be more inclined to sell him if the Uruguayan stays at the club. However, should he be sold, Barcelona would like to keep Kounde.

The report also states that they (Barcelona) will not listen to any offer less than €60 million should they decide to sell, setting that as the minimum financial ask.
