Barcelona are resigned to playing the rest of the season without their talented Spanish youngster who has been called up for international duty

Spanish giants Barcelona are set to be without their prodigious youngster Lamine Yamal for the rest of the season after he was called up for international duty with Spain’s u17 team.

Yamal the Blaugrana history maker

Aged 15 years old, Yamal made history with Barcelona by becoming the youngest player to represent the Blaugrana in LaLiga when he played against Real Betis in April.

The youngster has only played one game for Barcelona, but he is highly regarded at the club and is expected to become a major part of the Catalans’ future.

With the Barcelona native already getting recognised in his club’s senior team, he has been handed an international call-up for one of Spain’s youth teams, but accepting the invitation will mean that he will be unable to represent Barcelona again in the 2022/23 season.

Yamal to miss the rest of Barcelona’s season

With the tournament billed to take place from May 17 to June 2, it is unlikely that Yamal will get the chance to play for Barcelona before the season is over.

Barcelona’s next game is against Espanyol on the 14th of May, when Yamal will be expected to be with the Spain team already. With the June end of the tournament coming after the league season is over.
