Barcelona set to lose transfer target to Premier League menos

Barcelona's transfer target is reportedly set to slip out of their palms, with Premier League clubs on the prowl.

Barcelona are reportedly set to miss out on a player on their radar for a Premier League side as their struggles in the transfer window continue.

The Blaugrana’s financial situation is well reported. Their skint pockets have forced them to scour the market for low-cost options at left wing, as their squad has an unclogged hole in that area of the pitch.

The search sent them as deep as the English lower tiers, and when they eventually found a desirable player, Hull City's Jaden Philogene, they could be set to lose out on him to Premier League clubs that pale in comparison to their might.

With Ansu Fati transfer listed, Joao Felix returning to Atletico Madrid, and Ferran Torres struggling to establish himself, the Blaugrana are said to be in the market for a left winger. However, they cannot shop amongst the top options, as they have LALIGA’s financial fair play to contend with.

Athletic Club's Nico Williams remains their first choice, however, the players reported €58 million release clause coupled with his high wages demands could make Barcelona's desire a mere pipe dream.

Understanding their financial situation, they are in the market for low-cost options as earlier stated, and they have identified Hull City's Philogen, who scored 12 goals and provided six assists in the Championship last season as an ideal target.

However, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano, a deal for the 22-year-old stands to be complicated for the Spanish giants, as the player has communicated his desire to move to the Premier League.

He has reportedly received offers from Crystal Palace, Everton and Ipswich Town. A move to either of these clubs would see Barcelona lose out on a target to a club whose size dwarfs in comparison to theirs.
