Oshoala suffered a discomfort in her hamstring and has not played since then, with Barcelona going on to see off Wolfsburg to lift the title.

The injury to her left thigh has fueled concerns that she will not be ready to lead the Super Falcons to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in New Zealand and Australia.

However, the African Footballer of the Year has come out to give a positive update after promising she would be ready for the global showpiece.

“As far as I know, I will be ready before the World Cup kicks off,” Oshoala stated in a video posted on Instagram by Nigerian journalist, Calister Enejele.

Oshoala is a five-time African Footballer of the Year winner and Nigeria’s best player heading into the World Cup.

Despite her injury, she headlines the 23-woman squad released by Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum.
