Barcelona’s first game at the Spotify Camp Nou after being crowned champions of the 2022/23 LaLiga season is sure to spark some excitement as they aim to deny Real Sociedad a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League, but they will have to navigate the fixture without three of their important youngsters in midfielders Pedri and Gavi as well as defender Araujo.
The Blaugrana’s victory against Espanyol officially crowned them as champions of Spain this season, but it also came with some drawbacks that they will have to deal with when they play against Real Sociedad this weekend.
Barcelona look to fringe players against Real Sociedad
Pedri and Araujo have been sidelined through injury for the game against Real Sociedad, while Gavi will miss the fixture through suspension after receiving 10 yellow cards over the course of the LaLiga season.
Despite being without the three players, Barcelona are still expected to have too much for the visiting side as they present their 2022/23 LaLiga title to their teeming supporters at home for the first time.
The Blaugrana will be looking towards players like Franck Kessie, Ansu Fati and Marcos Alonso to fill the gap left by the missing players as they aim for a record 97 points this season, which will see manager Xavi become the Barcelona coach with the most points in his debut season.
