Thomas Tuchel is still a favourite of the Bayern Munich hierarchy despite the possibility of the Bavarians ending this season without a trophy
Bayern Munich legend Oliver Kahn has thrown his weight behind new manager Thomas Tuchel despite the German manager’s struggles since taking over from Julian Nageslemann.
Tuchel struggling as Bayern Munich boss
Tuchel was brought in as a replacement for Nagelsmann despite the 35-year-old manager leading Bayern Munich to the quarterfinals of the DFB Pokal and the UEFA Champions League while also being in touch with Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga table.

Since joining the club, Tuchel has seen Bayern Munich’s dreams of a possible treble fade to an immense battle for the Bundesliga title that they are currently losing as their only hope for silverware this season.
With only five games left until the end of the 2022/23 Bundesliga season, Borussia Dortmund find themselves in the lead with two points at the top of the league table after Bayern Munich’s shock loss to Mainz and the Bavarians could be dethroned from their pedestal as German champions for the first time in 10 seasons.
Despite the poor recent results since Tuchel took over, Bayern legend and board member Kahn has stood behind the club’s decision to ditch Nagelsmann for Tuchel.
Tuchel still has support of Bayern Munich bosses
Speaking after the loss to Mainz, the former Germany international said, “Thomas Tuchel is the last person we have to discuss. He's trying everything to take the boys forward.
Kahn also denied rumours that he was set to resign as CEO of Bayern Munich, stating that his only concern at the moment is helping Bayern win the Bundesliga title.
Kahn said, “I won’t resign. My only goal is to bring an end to the season with league title and then really attack again in the new season”.
Bayern Munich have lost three of the seven games they have played under Tuchel, winning only two of them, as their season goes from bad to worse under the former Chelsea and PSG manger.
