FC Bayern Munich has made a significant move in the transfer market by signing 22-year-old forward Michael Olise from Crystal Palace.

The deal, a five-year contract running until June 2029, marks Olise's transition from the English Premier League to the Bundesliga powerhouse.

Max Eberl, FC Bayern's board member for sport, expressed confidence in Olise's abilities, highlighting his potential to bring new dynamics to the team. "Michael Olise is a player who can make the difference and attracted great interest with his style of play," Eberl stated. "We want new impetus in our team, new energy, new ideas – that’s what players like Michael Olise stand for."

Christoph Freund, FC Bayern's sporting director, echoed Eberl's sentiments, praising Olise's attributes. "Michael is quick, tricky, a goal threat and very versatile in attack," Freund remarked. "His goals and assists stats are already outstanding. At the age of 22, Michael is already very advanced, but is also hungry and still has a lot of potential."

Olise himself expressed enthusiasm about joining FC Bayern, emphasizing the positive nature of his discussions with the club.

"The talks with FC Bayern were very positive, and I’m very happy to now be playing for such a big club," Olise said. "It's a great challenge, and that's exactly what I was looking for. I want to prove myself at this level and play my part in ensuring that we win as many titles as possible with our team in the coming years."

Born in London, Olise has had a rapid rise through various youth systems, including stints at Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City, before establishing himself at Reading and subsequently moving to Crystal Palace.

His impressive record of 16 goals and 25 assists in 90 competitive appearances for Palace underscored his potential and attracted attention from top clubs across Europe.

With French citizenship through his mother, Olise has chosen to represent France at the youth international level, showcasing his talent at the U21 European Championship and earning seven caps so far.

The acquisition of Olise signifies Bayern Munich's commitment to bolstering their attacking prowess and maintaining their competitive edge in both domestic and European competitions.

As Olise settles into his new surroundings in Munich, fans eagerly anticipate seeing his skills on display and his impact on the team's quest for silverware in the seasons ahead.
