Tuchel became a prominent figure in the football world, mostly thanks to his two seasons at Dortmund, which propelled him to the limelight after impressive performances with BVB earned him a reputation as one of the best young managers in the world at the time.

Tuchel derby takes focus as Bayern Munich face Borussia Dortmund in German Clasico
The former Chelsea manager will take charge of his first match as Bayern Munich coach against his former club.
Tuchel took over the reins at Dortmund from Jurgen Klopp at the start of the 2015/16 season, and helped them reach second place in the Bundesliga and the final of the DFB Pokal.
He left the following season after leading Dortmund to the DFB Pokal title and the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League in his second season in charge of the club.
Despite his relative success with Dortmund, Tuchel departed in acrimonious circumstances after falling out with the club’s hierarchy, including CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke.

Tuchel will face Dortmund in his first game as Bayern Munich's manager after being appointed following the shock dismissal of Julian Nagelsmann in March.
