According to Sky Sports, the 20-year-old signed a year deal on a permanent basis with an undisclosed amount.

It is believed Romeo agreed to remain with the London club to get closer to his girlfriend Mia Regan who he has been dating for three years.

Beckham scored his first goal for the Bees in February and coach of Brentford’s second string side Neil MacFarlane has put his trust in the youngster who has been impressive since his arrival in January.

MacFarlane said:

"He has been a pivotal member of what has been a special group this year.

"There will be a decision made on Romeo.

"I have no qualms in putting my name to him - I want to help his development again.

"I'd have no problem whatsoever if he was to stay here and we continue his development at Brentford."
