After the club threw all its support behind Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham is reportedly feeling left out at Real Madrid
Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham is reportedly growing frustrated with his place within the club after Los Blancos’ recent Ballon d’Or drama.
The young English midfielder, who last season wowed fans with game-changing performances, now feels sidelined after Real Madrid’s focus on teammate Vinicius Junior in their Ballon d’Or campaign.
Real Madrid’s lack of support for Bellingham
Following Rodri Hernandez's victory, the club's hierarchy expressed disappointment that Vinicius did not receive the award, stating that if it had not been the Brazilian, Dani Carvajal would have been a worthy winner.
Yet Bellingham, who finished ahead of Carvajal, was barely acknowledged, and Spanish newspaper Diario AS reports that his exclusion from Real Madrid’s Ballon d’Or conversation has left him feeling undervalued by the club’s hierarchy.
Despite consistently strong performances, his name was barely mentioned as a potential award candidate.
The lack of acknowledgement, combined with his changing tactical role, seems to have left Bellingham feeling as though his contributions are undervalued at Real Madrid, a notable shift from the praise and attention he once enjoyed as the club’s standout performer last season.
Bellingham’s tactical shift to support Mbappe
Bellingham’s dissatisfaction reportedly extends beyond the awards scene; with Kylian Mbappe’s arrival at Real Madrid seeing his role change significantly.
In last season’s El Clasico ties, Bellingham played in an advanced role, where he thrived with greater involvement.
Now, with Mbappe occupying the central attacking role and Vinicius maintaining his position on the left, Bellingham’s playmaking and attacking strengths have been minimised, as seen in the recent 4-0 loss to Barcelona.
He has instead been tasked with supporting the defence on the right, limiting his influence in crucial attacking areas, and contributing to a performance that went largely unnoticed as the Englishman is yet to score in the new campaign.
