Nigeria will take on Benin Republic in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match on Thursday, November 14, at Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny. Here are predictions, team news, betting tips, and possible line-ups for the game.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take to the pitch for the first time since the unfortunate incident that had the team stranded in Libya.

An incident that eventually had CAF award maximum points to Nigeria, taking their points tally to 10 and leaving them needing only one point to confirm their spot at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Benin, on the other hand, needs a win to remain in control of their fate heading into the final group game.

The Cheetahs won 2-1 against Libya in Abidjan before thrashing Rwanda 3-0 in the same venue, but they lost 2-1 to Rwanda in Rwanda, which was their second defeat since losing to Nigeria in the first game of the qualifiers.

Gernot Rohr’s side have six points, one ahead of Rwanda, who are in third and will host Libya this week before travelling to Nigeria next week for the final qualification game.

Benin vs. Nigeria Head to Head

A brace from Ademola Lookman and a well-taken Victor Osimhen volley sealed a 3-0 win for Nigeria in the reverse fixture.

This will be the 10th meeting between Nigeria and Benin, with the Super Eagles winning seven times and the Cheetahs winning just twice.

In-form Galatasaray forward Osimhen is back in the team after missing the game against Libya due to an injury.

Ballon d'Or nominee and CAF men's African Player of the Year award favourite, Lookman, is also in the team, while Real Sociedad's Sadiq Umar, who recovered from an ACL injury, is back in the squad.

However, Semi Ajayi has been sidelined for four months with a muscle tear and was not named for this reason, with Auxerre defender Gabriel Osho taking his place.

Olisa Ndah also fractured his tibia, leaving room for home-based defender Victor Collins from Nasarawa United.

Benin might be without forward Matteo Ahlinvi, who was substituted in Vasteras’s game against Hammarby after only 34 minutes due to an injury. The severity of the injury is yet to be confirmed, but the forward is still expected in camp for further assessment.

Star forward Steve Mounié and Grenoble forward Junior Olaitan have been named in Benin’s squad for this clash, and they have expressed their readiness to upset the Super Eagles.
