Manchester City have reached a verbal agreement with midfielder Bernardo Silva over a new contract according to reports.

Bernardo Silva was instrumental for Man City last season, helping them win the Premier League, Champions League and the Fa Cup which sums up a treble-winning season.

The Portuguese have been the subject of transfer speculations in recent months and have been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

However, despite being linked a way for the Etihad, he has reportedly committed his future to the club in a verbal agreement.

Bernardo Silva staying put

Bernardo Silva is set to remain with Manchester City and will not be moving away from the club this summer.

According to reports from Fabrizio on Twitter, “Bernardo Silva has now verbally agreed to sign new a contract at Manchester City — formally confirmed his decision to the club 🚨🔵 #MCFC

“City expects Bernardo to sign contracts by the end of next week. The new deal will be valid until June 2026.”

Man City have fended off interest from Barcelona and Saudi Arabian sides for Bernardo Silva as he remains keen to stay at the club.

The 29-year-old is said to have agreed a contract extension with the Citizens, with the deal set to be valid till 2026.

Before the end of the next week, he is anticipated to sign a three-year contract and officially seal the deal.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola’s men will face a tough challenge at the weekend as they welcome a rampant Newcastle side to the Etihad.
