Manchester City's Bernardo Silva has reportedly shut the door on a possible move to Saudi Arabia this summer
Manchester City star Bernardo Silva is reportedly set to turn down advances from Saudi Arabia to continue his career in Europe as Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain continue to lead the race to sign the midfielder.
Bernardo Silva set to reject Saudi move
Bernardo has enjoyed six exceptional years at Manchester City, helping them win the treble in the 2022/23 campaign as one of the most important players in the team.
Despite success in Manchester, the Portuguese has made known his intention to leave the club this summer as he looks for a new challenge and more playing time elsewhere.
The midfielder was heavily linked to a move to the Saudi Arabian League to join many of football’s stars who have made moves to the Gulf, but reports suggest that Bernardo will be looking at other offers instead.
Bernardo Silva focused on remaining in Europe
According to the French outlet Foot Mercato, Bernardo is set to reject a move to the Saudi Pro League, with the midfielder focused on remaining in Europe.
The midfielder has been courted by two of Europe’s biggest clubs, Barcelona and PSG, who are intent on giving the Portuguese midfielder a place to land should his desire to leave Manchester City this summer become more concrete.
Barcelona have already signed Bernardo’s former teammate Ilkay Gundogan and could be looking to add the Portuguese maestro to their ranks despite their current financial struggles.
PSG are also looking to sign Bernardo Silva as they begin a total rebuild of their squad this summer in order to finally land the UEFA Champions League which the Portuguese helped Manchester City win this season.
