In a stunning upset, former Super Eagles head coach Finidi George and his Rivers United FC have been eliminated from the President Federation Cup following a 2-1 defeat to NNL side Beyond Limits FA, the academy team of Remo Stars FC.
The match, which took place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, Edo State, saw the youthful Beyond Limits side outclass the NPFL giants to secure their place in the round of 16.

Nwankwo Kanu’s Enyimba missed the chance to make it back-to-back wins at home while former Super Eagles boss Finidi George took advantage of Remo Stars’ absence in the NPFL.
Beyond Limits FA showed both class and determination, with standout performer the marvelous Akinocho Merveille netting a brace to seal the victory.
The academy boys took the lead in the 16th minute when Merveille fired home the opener. They doubled their advantage shortly after the break in the 51st minute, with Merveille once again finding the back of the net.
