Bidco United 1-1 Nairobi City Stars.
Samwel Ndung’u’s goal was enough to help Bidco United salvage a point against Nairobi City Stars in a dull FKFPL encounter played at the Kasarani Annex on Sunday afternoon.
City Stars had a great opportunity to break the deadlock in the eight minute when winger Samuel Kapen met Kevin Etemesi’s corner, but his headed effort went over the bar.
In the 25th minute, Bidco almost took the lead from a corner kick which just sailed wide.
In the 37th minute, Nairobi City Stars had the chance to draw first blood when Kevin Etemesi made a promising run from a long ball executed by Elvis Noor but the striker was brought down in the area .
The Simba wa Nairobi’s pleas to have a penalty awarded to them fell on deaf ears.
City Stars started the better of the two sides in the second half and should have sailed ahead in the 52nd minute when Kevin Etemesi found himself one on one with the goalkeeper, but his effort sailed wide
They continued piling the pressure and moments later, they finally sailed ahead through Andrew Kisilu, who made no mistake from close range in the 56th minute.
Bidco would equalize 12 minutes later through Samwel Ndung’u, with the ex-Police striker making no mistake with his attempted header into the back of the net.
The Thika based side had the gloriest of opportunities to take the lead after the equalizer gave them the momentum needed to control the match. In the 77th minute, Substitute Martin Mbugua should have scored when the ball landed on his feet in the area, but his attempt ballooned way over the bar.
In the end, both sides would have to share the spoils, meaning they have both amassed two points each in their opening two matches.
