Bido United coach Anthony Akhulia has told his players to step up and realise that 'this is a league' after winning just one of their opening five games
Bidco United head coach Anthony Akhulia has urged his team to elevate their mental game if they aspire to achieve consistency in their pursuit of a high finish in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) this season.
The Thika-based side has faced challenges in maintaining consistency, recording three draws, one win, and one loss in their initial five league fixtures, placing them in the mid-table positions.
In their recent match, Bidco suffered a defeat to Kenya Police, who were experiencing a managerial resurgence with the recent appointment of former Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards Croatian coach Zdravko Logarusic.

FKFPL Akhulia slams Bidco United charges for underestimating Police in first defeat of season
Akhulia has berated his charges for assuming “it would be easy” facing a struggling side, as they were made to pay for being complacent.
Police secured the win with goals from Clifton Kinanga and Kenneth Muguna, securing their first three points of the season and handing Bidco their first loss.
Speaking after the match, Akulia urged his players to recognise the seriousness of the league, emphasising that each match is crucial and winning is the primary objective.
“It is (all about) mental (mentality). Players have to realise that this is a league and in each and every match, we really need to win,” Akhulia said.

The media-friendly boss has revealed that he and his technical staff will work hard to identify what went wrong during the match and use it as fuel to win their next match against Bandari at the weekend.
“Having that we have a big squad and we have players who can help us win matches, it is upon me and my technical bench to look at the players who came in against Police. Have they really helped us?"
“Then we go back and look at who we can look at to help us in our next match.”
