The Arsenal manager has detailed why his forward was in anguish in the dressing room after the Gunners’ loss to Manchester United.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta fears that striker Gabriel Jesus has suffered a serious knee injury during their FA Cup defeat to Manchester United.
What happened?
The Brazilian forward was forced off on a stretcher in the first half after colliding with Bruno Fernandes, leaving Arteta with a major injury concern.
"Big worry," Arteta said after the match. "He is in a lot of pain, touching his knee. It is not looking good. I think it is the other one (knee, compared to his injury in 2022).
Jesus, who had been in excellent form with six goals in his previous six games, now faces a potentially lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Another Arsenal injury
This latest injury setback is a significant blow for Arsenal, who are already without several key players, including Bukayo Saka, Ethan Nwaneri, Riccardo Calafiori, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White.
The Gunners are particularly short of options in attack, with Saka expected to be out until March following hamstring surgery and Nwaneri also sidelined with a muscular problem.
Jesus's potential absence would further deplete their attacking ranks and leave Arteta with limited choices up front.
What next for Arsenal?
Arsenal, currently second in the Premier League, have a North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, followed by a home match against Aston Villa three days later.
They also resume their Champions League campaign against Dinamo Zagreb on January 22.
