Bayern Munich were held to a draw by Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena in a top-table Bundesliga clash.
The free-scoring Vincent Kompany’s side came into the game off the back of a 5-0 drubbing of Werder Bremen last weekend.

As it happened
Super Eagles star Victor Boniface made the starting lineup for Bayer Leverkusen following his off-the-bench winning goal against Wolfsburg last weekend.
Bayern Munich, on the other hand, started last season’s highest goal scorer, Harry Kane, to lead the attack.
The home side started the game brightly with much composure and intensity but could not break down the Leverkusen defence.
However, it was Xabi Alonso's side that struck the back of the net when Robert Andrich fired a brilliant volley into the bottom left corner from the edge of the box, leaving the goalkeeper helpless.
Eight minutes later, Kompany’s side got the equaliser in the 39th minute when Aleksandar Pavlovic hit a perfect volley from far out and the ball flew into the top right corner.
The second half started with the same energy as the first half from both teams but failed to create many goal-scoring opportunities.
Both teams pushed on for the winning goal until the final whistle but could not find the back of the net, as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
