The AFC Leopards midfielder stages a triumphant return from injury, igniting hopes for the team's success with his indomitable spirit.

AFC Leopards midfielder Victor Omune has made a triumphant return to training after a grueling one-month hiatus due to a debilitating knee injury.

The 30-year-old Kenya international had been absent from the pitch since August, when he courageously soldiered on, despite the excruciating pain, to help his team in the closing matches of the previous season.

Although there was a hint of limping in his gait, AFC Leopards joyfully announced Omune's comeback in a video posted on their social media platforms.

Omune's absence at the start of the season undoubtedly took a toll on Ingwe, as they faced challenges finding their rhythm without their key midfielder.

During his injury spell, Omune missed three crucial matches, leaving the 12-time Kenyan champions searching for a winning formula.

When initially revealing the extent of his injury, Omune had voiced concerns about being sidelined for nearly four months, as advised by the team's medical staff.

"Unfortunately, I will miss the start of the season with a knee injury, and I will be out for close to four months as the doctors have said. But I believe I will be back better and stronger. Thanks a lot for the love," Omune had written, expressing his unshakable optimism about embarking on a remarkable recovery journey.

Aside from his impactful stint with Leopards, he has also showcased his commitment to contributing to various clubs' successes throughout his career, including a notable period with Muhoroni Youth.

Last season, Omune played an instrumental role in AFC Leopards' performance, helping the team achieve a commendable seventh-place finish in the highly competitive FKF Premier League.

His standout moment came when he netted an astonishing four goals in a resounding 6-0 victory over FC Talanta, etching his name in the annals of Kenyan football history.

This remarkable feat marked him as the first player to achieve such a milestone in an FKF Premier League match since Masud Juma accomplished it for Kariobangi Sharks against Muhoroni Youth back in 2017.
