Shabana have sealed a three-year partnership with SportPesa ahead of their new FKFPL season.
Leading gaming firm SportPesa has reinforced its commitment to enhancing Kenya's sporting ecosystem by agreeing a multi-million partnership with FKFPL side Shabana.
The partnership worth Ksh 75 million is expected to serve the team for three years.
In attendance was the governor for Kisii county Hon. Simba Arati, who assured that the Kisii stadium is ready for use for the football players and that the track was still in the process of completion.
Shabana Secretary General was also in attendance and promised that Shabana FC is on the rise to competing in continental competitions.
Shabana ended a 17 year wait to join the Kenya top flight league when they defeated Migori Youth at the Gusii stadium in 2023. In their first season back they finished 14th in the league and now with SportPesa as their partner, they are expected to bolster their performance in the 24/25 FKF season.
Speaking at the event, Secretary general Dr. Elizaphan Kerama praised the team for sticking to their game plan and achieving the goals that they had set before joining the Kenyan top flight.
" It was not easy in the NSL but from that point we were capable of growing objective and having a clear vision of where we wanted to be. Today I can confirm to you for the three years we have accomplished more than 100% of our objectives."
The head of operations Benard Chauro urged the team to remain steadfast to their goals and he assured the fan base representatives that new branded jerseys will be made for Shabana FC.
He admitted that he had seen on the company's social media page that the fans had brought up the issue about new jerseys and mentioned that despite the unveiling of the partnership coming very close to the begining of the campaign, the unveiling of their new proposed jersey will be done at Gusii stadium.
He added to say," Playing outside Kenya is quite expensive but with this partnership, Shabana FC will be able to play outside the country."
The governor, Hon Simba Arati assured that the Gusii stadium was back to usable condition and it is better than before.
"I can assure you that the field is in good condition. I was actually there yesterday, I drove around the field and I can assure you that the field is level except for the track that is yet to be completed."
In a light moment, he hinted at a potential bus for Shabana FC players. He said, "Now that we have SportPesa on board, basi inaweza kuja, Sisi tutaweka mafuta (Now that we have SportPesa on board, the bus can come, we will fuel it)"
With SportPesa and Shabana FC's boat now sailing, with the season yet to start on Saturday, Shabana FC will be able to boost their quality of play and internal operations with this partnership.
