In anticipation of their upcoming clash with Vipers Sports Club in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, reigning Botswana champions Jwaneng Galaxy are making strategic preparations on foreign soil.

Jwaneng Galaxy is gearing up for an international pre-season tournament in South Africa, where they will lock horns with formidable opponents, including Lesotho's powerhouse Bantu FC, and South African sides D'General FC and Mangaung United FC.

The announcement was made by Jwaneng Galaxy on August 7, outlining their commitment to honing their skills and teamwork as they gear up for their closely-approaching showdown with Vipers on August 20, 2023.

"Jwaneng Galaxy will travel to South Africa to participate on another tournament (MANGAUNG CHALLENGE ) at Bloemfontein (Dr Molemela Stadium), as a way of preparing for a close CAF preliminary round fixture against Vipers on the 20 August 2023," the club announced, August 7.

The first leg of the preliminary round encounter is set to take place in Botswana

Vipers SC will host the return leg between the 25th and 27th of August at the St Mary's Stadium Kitende.

The victor will go on to face off against Djabal from Comoros and the formidable South African contenders, Orlando Pirates, in the second round. The outcome of this stage will pave the way for one team's advancement into the coveted group stages of the competition.

Meanwhile, Vipers SC is not resting on their laurels either. In a bid to fine-tune their performance, they recently played host to Tanzania's Kagera Sugar in an international friendly match.
