Former Arsenal star Mesut Ozil trolls North London rival Tottenham following a run of poor results.

Waving his Arsenal flag for all to see on social media, former Gunners playmaker Mesut Ozil taunts Tottenham following their recent slump in form.

What happened

Arsenal are flying this season and they currently lead the pack, six points above defending champions Manchester City. Tottenham, on the other hand, are in a regression.

The Lilywhites have seemingly, as is characteristic, flattered to deceive, as they previously stood on top of the log, romping all in their path under the new manager, the charismatic Postecoglou, whose team's exploits earned him consecutive Manager of the Month gongs.

The hype has disappeared, and all the goodwill earned by Postecoglou has eroded as Tottenham find themselves in a dip, with no wins in the last five league games.

According to Optajoe, their recent form has seen them become the first Premier League team to: fail to win five consecutive games despite going 1-0 up in each match and lose three consecutive home games despite going up 1-0 up in each match.

What Ozil said

The retired German midfielder took advantage of Spur’s predicament to score a point in the North London rivalry.

Ozil played for the red side of North London from 2013 until 2021 and during his time at the club, he played in 10 derbies against Tottenham, scoring once and registering 10 assists.

Quoting Optajoe’s post that revealed the damning record Tottenham had set, the former Arsenal number 10 said, “Who else should be able to break that record? Bottle Job FC is back.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has gone to bat for his struggling shot-stopper David Raya after the Spanish international’s error-ridden performance against Luton.
