Why we choose Country names for the championship - ANWFCC spokesperson
The Public Relations Officer of ANWFCC, Olajide Royal, said the reason for choosing country names for the competition is to attract international investors.
He said, "The reason for picking country names is because we want to make it a kind of competition that can involve everyone without discrimination, and it makes individuals and companies from other parts of the world outside Nigeria and Africa be involved."
Olajide went on to say that the competition will help to groom the players and provide opportunities for them to play for national teams and top clubs in the country.
“The benefits vary, there are scouts from within and outside of the state and country to scout them. We recommend them for national teams and top clubs. The competition also helps a lot of them gain more experience and develop more in the game.
“It was a hunger to help the burden talents discover themselves, achieve their set goals and live in their dream that made us bring a competition like this to reality.”
The final was played at the Legacy Pitch at the National Stadium in Surulere.
