The Leicester City boss is will take home an eight-figure compensation package if he is sacked by Leicester following the club’s disastrous start to the season.
The Foxes manager's job is under serious scrutiny following his team's terrible start to the 2022/23 Premier League season.
Leicester have only collected only one point from their opening five games, losing four games and recording a draw.
The Foxes were thrashed 5-2 by Brighton over the weekend on Sunday, making it their fifth defeat in a row.
The last time Leicester were on such a losing streak, they fired their then-manage Claudio Ranieri his job in February 2017, nine months after leading them to their first Premier League title.
Brendan Rodgers signed a new deal in December 2019 that made him the highest-paid manager in the club’s history.
The deal which runs until June 2025 is thought to contain a significant payoff if he is dismissed before the end of his contract.
According to DailyMail, Rodgers could rack in over £10million (N4.8bn) in compensation from Leicester, should the club decide to call it quits with the former Liverpool boss.
Rodgers himself has expressed frustration at the club’s lack of transfer activity throughout the summer.
The club only signed Belgian defender Wout Faes for £15m, following the departure of Wesley Fofana to Chelsea having rejected the Blues' offer on three occasions.
However, the club's chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha - known as Khun Top, has previously emphasized the need for sustainability as the club seek to ensure they comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.
Leicester’s next two fixtures are at home to fellow struggling side Aston Villa this Saturday, September 10 before they travel to White Hart Lane to face Tottenham, as they hope to move from bottom of the Premier League standings having picked up just one point from six games.
