Speaking as a pundit for Premier League Productions, Wright was particularly impressed with the Gunners' response after falling behind to an early Bryan Mbeumo goal.

He praised their ability to overcome adversity and ultimately secure a comfortable win, with goals from Gabriel Jesus, Mikel Merino and Gabriel Martinelli.

"Very impressed with that win," Wright remarked. "No Saka, no Rice, no Havertz. Coming to Brentford, we know how good they are at home. [Arsenal] showed great character and in the end won it very comfortably."

The former Arsenal striker also highlighted the team's growing maturity and confidence. "The temperament, mentality and confidence in the team, it was very impressive," he added.

Victory for Mikel Arteta's men sees them close the gap on league leaders Liverpool to six points, although Arne Slot’s side have a game in hand.

What next for Arsenal?

The Gunners will be looking to maintain their momentum when they return to Premier League action at Brighton on January 4.
