Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has warned his players against complacency ahead of their Champions League second-leg playoff clash against Brest.

Despite holding a commanding 3-0 advantage from the first leg, the Spanish tactician believes that Brest’s collective strength could pose problems for his side at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.

PSG put themselves in a strong position last week with a convincing 3-0 victory at Brest, courtesy of a Vitinha penalty and an Ousmane Dembele brace.

However, Luis Enrique insists that his team must approach the match with full intensity, telling reporters, “Without a doubt, it is a tricky match despite the very good result. Our job is to think of this match as an obligation to win from the outset.”
He acknowledged Brest’s collective team play as their biggest asset, adding, “Brest’s strength is their team and not necessarily their individuals. It’s very difficult to play against Brest, and you have to be prepared. Can Brest turn things around? Our aim is not to let that happen.”

PSG remain determined to progress further in the tournament as they continue their chase for an elusive first Champions League title.

Luis Enrique also took time to discuss the progress of new January signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who joined PSG from Napoli for €70 million.

The 24-year-old Georgian winger has made six appearances, scoring once since joining the Ligue 1 giants.
Speaking about Kvaratskhelia, Luis Enrique said, “I’m happy with him. It’s obvious that he needs time to adapt, there’s no magic formula. He’s a recruit for the long term. I’m in no hurry.”

Meanwhile, PSG midfielder Fabian Ruiz echoed his manager’s sentiments about Brest, saying, “We know that all matches are difficult, especially in the Champions League. Brest will give everything. We have to play from the first minute with the desire to win.”
