The Harambee Stars goalkeeper has challenged his teammates to start taking their chances if they are to correct their indifferent form so far this season.

Tusker FC vice captain Brian Bwire has revealed that finishing has cost them in recent games and has urged his teammates to rectify the problem ahead of Wednesday's clash against Bidco United.

The Harambee Stars goalkeeper has further sent a rallying message to his mates to be “ready” for a tough task against Bidco United when both sides face each other off at the Murang’a Sports Complex on Wednesday.

“We have to be ready for the next one as the games are tight,” Bwire told the club’s media channel.

“We have to push (to start winning) as the other teams are also taking part in tight fixtures. We are ready and we will push on.”

“Based on the previous games (against AFC Leopards and Posta) it is our chances that we need to utilize but everyone has given their best every game and there has been improvement.”

Tusker sit in 12th place on 16 points but could jump to 11th place with a win against Bidco United.

The Brewers have traditionally never really started a season well in recent times. When they won the title in 2022, they were in 14th place after 11 games played.

At the start of last season, they also did not start well but found themselves finishing the league on 69 points, one behind winners Gor Mahia. It is the highest second-place finish ever recorded over the last 15 years.

Meanwhile, the former Kariobangi Sharks keeper has revealed what went wrong during their 0-0 draw against Posta on Sunday which sparked a lot of refereeing controversy.

“We as a team expected to win (against Posta) and not just to get a point but that is how the game went.”

The game was overshadowed by refereeing controversy that got Robert Matano very incandescent, swearing never to “forgive” center referee David Mulongo for the manner in which he officiated the game.
