BUL is assured of shs. 12 million in prize money but could bag eight more if they go on to win their first trophy under Kikomeko.
Coach Abbey Kikomeko is just 90 minutes away from winning his first major title after his BUL side ejected SC Villa to reach the final of the 2023 FUFA Super 8 cup on Monday at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
The Jinja side came from a goal to equalize through a controversial penalty that Charles Ssekamatte took in the 40th minute.
Earlier on, Kikomeko’s former student Peter Onzima had given the Jogoos a lead.
BUL will now face the winner between KCCA FC and URA, but Kikomeko is unfazed by the threats the two giants pose, thumping his chest that the edible-oil makers are capable of causing another major upset.
“We had planned well knowing that they [SC Villa] play the same style as us, but we’re now focusing on our next match,” the coach said briefly after the win.
“I don’t know which team we’re going to play next, but whoever comes, we shall lay a good strategy to beat them,” he roared.
BUL eliminated holders Vipers Sports Club from the quarterfinal stage to reach the semis.
SC Villa will now turn their focus to the third-place playoff that comes with shs. 10 million prize package.
BUL is now assured of shs. 12 million in prize money but could bag eight more if they go on to win their first trophy under Kikomeko.
The final will be played on Sunday 3rd September, at a stadium yet to be confirmed.
