The much-anticipated 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is just around the corner, and football enthusiasts around the world are eagerly gearing up for the biennial football extravaganza.

To make sure fans have ample opportunity to secure their seats for this grand event, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled the details of ticket sales and prices.

Starting this Saturday, tickets for the 34th edition of AFCON, scheduled to take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024, in the Ivorian cities of Abidjan, Bouake, Korhogo, San Pedro, and Yamoussoukro, will be available for purchase online.

However, there is  a special treat for VISA payment card holders during the initial phase, with exclusive access to ticket sales.

In this first phase, VISA payment card holders will have the privilege of securing their tickets, while the rest of the public can mark their calendars for the grand opening of the public sales, set to go live on Monday, November 13, 2023.

This phase offers fans the chance to snatch up 25 percent of the tickets allocated for the group stage, ensuring that passionate supporters won't miss out on the action.

Ticket prices have been designed to cater to various budgets, with Category Three (3) tickets available for 5000 FCFA (approximately Ksh 2,400), Category Two (2) tickets priced at 10000 FCFA (about Ksh 2,400), and Category One (1) tickets at 15000 FCFA (about Ksh 3,400).

To ensure fairness and to accommodate as many households as possible, there's a limit of six tickets per household for the group stage. This move is aimed at preventing ticket hoarding and ensuring that more fans get the opportunity to witness the footballing spectacle live.

Veron Mosengo-Omba, the CAF General Secretary, emphasized the organization's commitment to making the tournament accessible to football fans and ensuring that Ivorians have easy access to this prestigious competition.

“Online tickets will enhance ticketing experience for fans of African football and the general public. The support from the stakeholders has been great and we are hopeful of meeting the increasing demands of the fans and the general public,” he said.

The 34th edition of AFCON promises to be a star-studded event, with some of the biggest names in football set to dazzle the audience. Defending champions Senegal, led by Al-Nassr striker Sadio Mane and Chelsea's new sensation Nicolas Jackson, will be a force to reckon with.

Meanwhile, Egypt, boasting seven AFCON titles, will be captained by Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, making them a formidable contender.

Ivory Coast, hosting the finals for the second time after 1984, is poised to deliver an unforgettable tournament despite the rescheduling due to concerns about the rainy season.
