Lukaku scores brace again as Roma hit four in consecutive games.
Romelu Lukaku is fully in the race to unseat Victor Osimhen as Capocannoniere, scoring a brace for Roma in a 4-1 rout of Cagliari.
The early season struggles seem to now be behind Mourinho's men, and they won their third consecutive game, scoring four in the last two. Lukaku cannot stop scoring, taking his league tally to five, level with Napoli's Victor Osimhen.
How it happened
Mourinho's team started brilliantly, pressing high against the Cagliari backline, but were unlucky in front of goal.
They will not be denied for too long, as Houssem Aouar broke the deadlock for the Romans, collecting a beautifully weighted pass from Spinazolla before firing past the Cagliari keeper.
Lukaku made it two almost immediately, heading in from the closest of ranges from an inch-perfect Karldrop cross.

Andrea Bellotti made it three in the second-half, but the goal was erroneously ruled out as offside before VAR intervened.
Dybala set Lukaku up for his second on the day and Roma's fourth; the visitors were cruising to victory before a Bryan Cristante handball in the box gave the hosts something to cheer. Nandez scored the resulting penalty, and the game ended 4-1.
Lukaku in Golden Boot contention
The Belgian striker's future was uncertain this summer, as he was training alone at Chelsea facilities, following the fracturing of his relationship with Inter.
All that seems to be far behind him now, as the former Manchester United striker has returned to top goalscoring form that sees him mentioned among the best in the position.
The big Belgian has scored in six of his last seven games for the Giallorossi, five of which were in Serie A.
This took him level on goals with last season's Capocannoniere Victor Osimhen; however, he is still some way behind the current top scorer Lautaro Martinez.
