Cameroon's goalkeeper Andre Onana faces an uncertain return due to an injury that is impacting both the national team and Manchester United.

Andre Onana faces an uncertain return to the pitch as the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has issued an injury update ahead of their upcoming match against Libya.

Onana sustained a suspected adductor injury during a recent World Cup qualifier against Mauritius, casting doubt over his availability for both the national team and his club, Manchester United.

On Friday, as Cameroon secured a convincing 3-0 home victory over Mauritius in Douala, the Indomitable Lions had reason to celebrate.

However, their joy was short-lived as Onana had to leave the pitch just 10 minutes from time after sustaining an injury while making a crucial save.

This match marked Cameroon's first in the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, making Onana's injury a significant concern for both the national team and Manchester United.

In response to growing concerns about Onana's condition, FECAFOOT released an official statement to provide clarity on the situation.

"The Cameroon Football Federation wishes to inform the public that the player André Onana, who sustained an injury during the match against Mauritius on November 17, 2023, in Douala, is not currently part of the delegation of the Indomitable Lions in Benghazi," the statement reads.

"Medical imaging conducted by the National Selection's doctors has revealed a pubis condition," it added.

Onana's injury comes at a crucial time for Manchester United as they are set to resume Premier League action with a challenging fixture against Everton immediately following the international break.

The absence of their star goalkeeper could pose a significant challenge for the team as they seek to maintain their position in the league standings.

Furthermore, Manchester United's Champions League campaign is also at a critical juncture, with a pivotal away match against Galatasaray on the horizon just three days after the Everton clash.
