The young goalkeeper has kept 14 clean sheets this season.

Nzoia Sugar captain Humphrey Katasi says they are not feeling any pressure as the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) hits the homestretch.

The Sugar Millers are sitting third on the league standings, six points adrift of table leaders Gor Mahia with seven matches remaining.

"We are not under any pressure at all," said the 23-year-old goalkeeper.

"Our strategy is simply to take each game as it comes, and so far, we are still within our targets.

And by the way, we dont need to look at how other teams on top of us are doing. Our mission is to register wins in our games."

The goalkeeper also spoke about Wednesday's victory against Posta Rangers.

"It is a motivating win for us as players. We were 2-1 behind at halftime but we came back stronger in the second half and won which portrays team spirit within the squad," he added.

In the match, Nzoia took the lead in the sixth minute when attacking midfielder Joseph Mwangi forced his way into the box and lobbed Rangers goalkeeper Brian Obiero.

Rangers put up a fight after that, and they netted an equalizer in the 13th-minute courtesy of Brian Otieno. It was soon 2-1 after a square pass found Caleb Olilo found Calvin Odongo unmarked in the six-yard box, and his shot went past exposed Katasi.

Nzoia was penalized in the 63rd minute through Mwangi for his fourteenth goal of the season. And with their confidence back, Alfred Tanui put the game to bed for Salim Babu's men with five minutes remaining after he fired a low cracking shot that found the bottom corner.

Despite letting in two goals against Posta Rangers, Katasi has been caught up in the golden boot race as he kept 14 clean sheets this season.

Nzoia Sugar will next face FC Talanta Wednesday, May 3, at their Sudi Stadium fortress, where they have not lost in their 11 matches this season.
