After delivering a high-scoring affair in their last Premier League meeting, Spurs and Liverpool will look to engage in yet another entertaining game when they meet for the first leg of their Carabao Cup semifinal tie on Wednesday. Here are predictions, team news, betting tips, and possible line-ups for the game.

Tottenham have navigated a tough path to the last four, overcoming Coventry, Manchester City, and Manchester United.

Their quarter-final against United was a nail-biter, with Ange Postecoglou’s men edging a dramatic 4-3 victory at home.

Despite their progress in the EFL Cup, Spurs are struggling for form. A 2-1 defeat to Newcastle on Saturday marked their fifth loss in seven matches, raising questions about their ability to handle Liverpool’s firepower.

Spurs are chasing their fifth EFL Cup title, with their last triumph coming way back in 2008.

Liverpool, the defending champions and ten-time winners of the EFL Cup, have looked solid throughout the competition. Arne Slot’s side dispatched West Ham, Brighton, and Southampton to book their semifinal ticket.

The Reds rotated heavily in their 2-1 win over Southampton in the quarter-finals, highlighting their squad depth.

Fresh off a thrilling 2-2 draw with Manchester United in the Premier League, Liverpool remain unbeaten in their last nine matches across all competitions, reinforcing their status as strong contenders.

The North London side will be without Destiny Udogie, Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Ben Davies, Wilson Odobert, Richarlison, Mikey Moore, and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

To make matters worse, Radu Dragusin had to be substituted at half-time during their weekend loss to Newcastle due to a sickness bug sweeping through the squad.

Adding to their woes, playmaker James Maddison and midfield dynamo Pape Matar Sarr are suspended for the clash.

However, there is a glimmer of hope for Spurs as January signing Antonin Kinsky, who completed a surprise move from Slavia Prague, could make his debut and bolster their depleted ranks.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have relatively fewer concerns but are not entirely unscathed. Joe Gomez has been ruled out of the semifinal, while Dominik Szoboszlai, who missed the dramatic 2-2 draw against Manchester United due to illness, is racing against time to be fit.
