GENERAL Celebrations as Eastleigh MAB lauded for impressive run in KDF Games

The team was celebrated for accomplishing recent KDF games with good results.

Moi Airbase Eastleigh have been lauded for posting impressive results in various disciplines during the recent Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Games.

The team was hosted at the Athletics Detachment Camp in Ngong-Kibiko for a festive season to celebrate their performance, and the occasion was led by the base commander, Brigadier Samuel Kipkorir.

Moi Airbase Eastleigh had three teams that participated: the ladies' netball team, Spitfire, the men’s football team, and the athletics team. The netball team emerged as runners-up in the Bora Cup competitions, and the Spitfire are at the top of their league table.

The athletics team, which saw the men’s team finish second in the KDF cross country competitions this year and the ladies' team finished first overall. Senior Private Rukia Nusra was crowned the best athlete in KDF track and field events.

"I’m a very proud base commander because I gave you our KAF flag and you represented us well. We are celebrating your good performance, you went out and competed, and you came back victorious.

"I’m proud of you and urge you all to be better in the sports that we didn’t perform well in. Congratulations, and thank you for bringing us the trophies," Kipkorir said during the event.

The deputy base commander at the Moi Airbase, commanding officers, senior officers, officers, Kenya Air Force sergeant major, base sergeant major, and service members were also present at the commemorative event.
